Sandra Potter

Sandra Potter, age 71, of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday, September 10th, at the UnityPoint Health in Marshalltown.           Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com .           Born on Christmas Day of 1948, she was the daughter of Russell and Dorris Phillips. She graduated from the Hubbard High School.           Sandra was united in marriage to two wonderful gentlemen who greeted her at heaven’s gates- John Benson who died in 1978 and James Potter who passed in 1985. She was devoted to her job at Nauman-Chase, then Nauman-Madsen, later Shomo-Madsen for many years. She dedicated her working career to the insurance profession for over 40 years right up to her passing.                Left to cherish her memory are her son Scott Potter of Marshalltown, her four precious grandchildren- Trent, Kegan, Carson and Karlie; three dear great-grandchildren: Ariella, Amelia and Zayden, step brother Denny (Marlene) and step-sister Peggy (Steve), as well as many other family and work colleagues.           In death, Sandra rejoined her husbands, brother, parents and two sons- Darrin (2017) and James (2007).
