Sandra "Sandy" Wagner

Sandra Wagner, or “Sandy,” as she preferred to be called, age 63, passed away on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at her home in Marshalltown, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Sandy was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up alongside her two brothers, she was active, outgoing, and always loved being social. She was incredibly proud of her Des Moines roots, especially the East Side! She loved volunteering, meeting new people, and spending time crafting and sewing.

Sandy is survived by her son, Chris Elkin; her two daughters, Tiffany (Derek) Hutchinson and Taylor Wagner; and her brothers, Mutt (Theresa) Taylor and Donny (Janet) Taylor. She adored her granddaughter, Ava, and cherished her cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved four-legged friend, Macaroni (Wee-Wee) Wagner. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol.

Sandy’s life was filled with trials, triumphs, and tribulations. Through it all, she remained a devoted Christian and dedicated her life to serving her Lord. Her greatest wish has now come true: she is pain-free, resting in the arms of her Creator, and reunited once more with her loved ones who went before her.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her family will host an intimate celebration of life at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New City Church in Marshalltown, Iowa, where Sandy was a member.
