Sandra Kay Shelton, 69, of Tama, died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.Funeral services will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com. She was the daughter of Omar and Lillie (Harem) Kjormoe. She attended school in the area of her birth and graduated from LeGrand with the class of 1959; she then attended some business classes and received her CNA training from Marshalltown Community College. Sandra married Jerry Don Shelton on June 7, 1959 in State Center, Iowa. They were married 22 years and then divorced. Sandra had lived in California for 6 years, then lived in St Louis for 25 years before moving to Tama, Iowa in the early 1990s until the present. Sandy had done inventory work for many years, then was a CNA for 5 years and worked at Meskwaki Casino for 11 years until retirement. She enjoyed photography, craft work and craft shows and flower gardening.Left to Cherish Sandras memory is her children: Judith (Brian) Hillier of St Louis, Missouri, Janet Lynn Shelton of California, Diane Schiedemeyer of Missouri and Donald (Diane) Shelton of Woodstock, Georgia, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Siblings: Dorothy Dobson, Mildred Lathrop , Ruby Brittian, Betty Altmaier, Richard Kjormoe and half brother: Gary Nodurft. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Omar and Lillie Kjormoe, Sister Norma Hauser, brothers: Robert, Roger and Earl and her step-father Robert Nodurft.
