Sandra "Sue" Rowe

Sandra Sue Rowe, 82, of Des Moines, formerly of the Gladbrook area, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at her home and under the care of Wesley Life Hospice.

Graveside services for Sue will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Memorials may be directed to the family. Sandra Sue Rowe was born on February 9, 1944 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Marvin and Leona (Kimball) Rowe. Sue graduated high school from Gladbrook in 1963. Sue had worked at various restaurants and nursing homes as a cook. She was an excellent cook, with her pies being a favorite. Sue enjoyed bird watching, reading and loved spending time with her dog: Scooby. Above all else, Sue was a giving person who went out of her way to help others and would gladly lend a hand to anyone in need.

Sue is survived by her children: Tim Lau of Des Moines, Denis Monthy of Des Moines, and Dahn (Shaun) Kennedy of Traer along with her siblings: Karen Staker of Newton and Gary (Ronni) Rowe of Des Moines. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her son: Jeff Lau; siblings: Linda Frericks and Ed Rowe and parents: Marvin and Leona.
