Sara Rees Schebler, 31,formerly of Marshalltown, currently residing in Olathe, Kansas, died unexpectedly at her home in Olathe, Kansas, on August 29, 2011.Funeral services for Sara will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the St. John Lutheran Church north of State Center with Pastor David Klinge officiating. She will be laid to rest in the St. John Cemetery. Visitation for Sara will be held from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Sara and her family.Sara was born on May 23, 1980. She is the daughter of Charles and Nancy Rees. Sara attended Clemons Lutheran School K-8th grade then attended Marshalltown High School graduating in 1998. She then attended The University of Iowa. While there, she met Dr. Peter Schebler in the chemistry library where they spent many hours studying and talking. They were married on January 13, 2001. She earned her bachelors degree in 2002 from The University of Iowa in chemistry. She and Pete then moved to Olathe, Kansas. While there she attended the University of Kansas and earned a masters degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. While working at the USDA as an analytical chemist, Sara discovered that she had a passion for helping people and wanted to pursue a career where she could interact on a daily basis with people. She decided to pursue that passion and was accepted to pharmacy school at the University of Kansas. While in school she also worked as a pharmacy technician with Walgreens. She was nearing completion of her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Growing up Sara always had a book in her hand. Sara was known for her passion of learning, her open giving heart, her devotion to family and her desire to help those around her. Those that were close to her will remember her infectious laugh, her smile, and her devotion to Hawkeye Football. Her love of life extended to animals especially her 3 cats.She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Olathe, KS where she played in the handbell choir. She is survived by her husband Peter Schebler; parents Charles and Nancy Rees of Marshalltown, IA; sister Petty Officer 2nd Class Abigail Archabald (Micheal) of Norfolk, VA (currently deployed to the Persian Gulf); brothers Benjamin Rees (Charissa) of Ames, IA, Petty Officer 3rd Class Aaron Rees of Charleston, SC, Daniel and Joel Rees of Marshalltown, IA; niece Kaylin Archabald; grandparents Luella Weber of Marshalltown, IA and Rueben and Ruby Rees of Jacksonville, AR. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Immanuel Weber.
