Scott Carter Eggers

Scott Carter Eggers, 48, of Farmington, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Visitation and vigil will be held at the Church of St. Michael in Farmington at 10am, Tuesday, May 13, 2014, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Additional family visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6:00 p.m.-8 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Scotts family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Mitchell Family Funeral Home and will be placed in a trust for Mitchell and Matthews secondary education. Scott will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown, IA, at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Scott was born November 3rd, 1965, in Marshalltown, IA, where he lived his entire childhood. He graduated from Marshalltown High School and then from Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering. He later obtained his MBA from St. Ambrose University. He was very proud of his career history as an engineer which included positions at the Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant in Independence, MO, Oral B in Iowa City, IA, Ford Motor Company and Boston Scientific in the Minneapolis area. He currently held a directors position at GN Resound. Scott took his career seriously and worked hard to provide for his family. He loved sports and was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan, St. Louis Rams and L.A. Dodgers fan. He especially enjoyed coaching his sons baseball and basketball games and was their biggest fan. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, and fishing. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tina, and their two sons, Mitchell Scott and Matthew Carter Eggers at home in Farmington; his parents, Charles and Cathy Thompson of Garwin, IA; sisters Julie (Bill Preston) Trickett of Marshalltown, IA; Amy (Brad) Cox also of Garwin, IA; brother Rusty (Cindy) Eggers of Osage Beach, MO; paternal grandmother Winifred Thompson of State Center, IA; numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins including special Aunt Jane Montgomery. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milt and Darlene Montgomery, and Charles Thompson, Sr.
