Scott Howie Howard, 47, of Grinnell, Iowa, passed away at home on June 8, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Mitchell family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Phone 641-844-1234. Scott A. Howard was born on August 22, 1965, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of the late Donald and Patricia (Hawkins) Howard of Laurel, Iowa. Scott attended school in the SEMCO Community School District, graduating with the class of 1984, with the honors of being a twin and 1 of 3 sets of twins that started and all graduated in the same class. He participated in baseball, choir, and football in high school. Scott then went on to attend MCC, graduating with a degree in Auto Mechanics. Scott worked at Hoops Standard, Swifts, Delongs Sportswear, Donaldsons, and Jel-Wen Doors, and most recently had started his own house cleaning business. Left to cherish his memory is his twin sister, Kristi Howard and her daughter Tearstyn Howard of Laurel, Iowa; his older sister Ellen (Patrick) Sloan of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her children, Lloyd and Loren Butler of State Center, Iowa and Josie and Cierra Eggers of Laurel, Iowa. Maternal grandmother, Mildred Hawkins of Marshalltown, Iowa. Uncles: George (Iva) Howard, Donald Hawkins of Asheville, North Carolina, and Marvin (Barb) Hawkins of Marshalltown, Iowa. Aunt, Ruth (Donald) Howard of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Scotts special four legged friends, his pets, Scout, his faithful terrier, and his cat Jet. In death Scott rejoins his parents, Donald and Patricia Howard; older sister, Lori Howard; paternal grandparents, James and Dora Howard; and maternal grandfather, Lee Hawkins.
