Sean OShea Smith, 39, Wesley Chapel, FL, died tragically on Tuesday, February 1st, 2011. Sean suffered a fatal fall from a tree stand while hunting in Pasco County. He was born December 18th, 1971 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Greg Smitty and Nuala Smith. The second of three children, he grew up very active in sports and excelled in football, wrestling, baseball, and recreational softball. Sean had many friends and no enemies. He studied Sports Medicine at the University of Iowa as well as Iowa State University. He married Angel Kraft in June of 2001, in Nashville, TN. Soon after they moved to Florida where Sean eagerly took a position with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission where Sean has served as an officer for 10 years. As an officer Sean received many awards including Exceptional Performance for going above and beyond the call of duty, search and rescue accolades, and recognition for life saving. An avid outdoorsman, he was always in the woods, whether it was working, hunting, or fishing. Above all, Sean was a loving husband and father and enjoyed quality time with his family more than anything.Sean leaves behind his loving wife Angel, and two precious boys Ethan (6) and Aidan (3). His parents Greg and Nuala Smith. Brother Casey (wife Brenda, Urbandale, IA), sister Katie (husband Mike, Mingo, IA) and nieces and nephews OSheen, Ailish, Eamon, Grainne, and Quinlan Smith. Grandmother Jeanne Smith (Marshalltown). As well as Angels parents, sisters and their husbands (of Florida).In death Sean joins his grandparents Tom and Kathleen Leavy and Wayne Smith.We are broken hearted that your life was cut short. We love you and will miss you so very much. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. Immediately following the services. family and friends are invited to continue the celebrastion of his life at the KC Hall in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorials may be directed to The Sean Smith Family Fund, C/O, Bank of America.
