Sean Turnbull

Sean Eric Turnbull, 49, of Marshalltown, was taken from this earth on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.   Sean was born on October 25, 1969, to Robert and Elaine (Hall) Turnbull. Sean attended school in the Marshalltown and Le Grand areas, graduating from LDF. Sean was united in marriage to Valerie Oetker in August of 1992. They had three children: Kirsten LaShae, Alexis Rae and Ian Robert. Sean and Valerie later divorced in 2015.   Like his father, Sean was a hard working humble soul who helped many a people in his lifetime. Sean enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it be camping, fishing or rock hunting. He also truly believed the quote “One man’s trash, another man’s treasure.” At 49 years young, Sean was looking forward to spending time cruising the open road and spending time with his children and granddaughter Naila.   Left to mourn his loss are his mother, Elaine; children: Kirsten (Ryan), Lexi (Cole Weatherly) and Ian (Maria) and their mother Valerie (Chris) Lundberg; and granddaughter Naila. He is also survived by four older sisters: Holly, Leslie (Ken), Chelle (Brother-In-Law) and Robin as well as several nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; his special friend, Cindy and of course “Duke”, his dog. Sean also leaves behind many friends and loved ones.   Sean joins his father; brother-in-law, Tate; nephew Jesse Robert; great nephew Jesse Kinkade; grandparents and several aunts and uncles on his journey in the afterlife.   Services for Sean will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September, 15, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will precede services starting at 1:00 p.m. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Sean and his family.
