Sharon Rae Klosterman

Sharon Rae (Dannen) Klosterman, 76, of Eldora passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Staying true to her wishes no funeral services will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date once a fund has been established. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Sharon and her family.  Sharon was the daughter of Harold and Vola (Adams) Dannen, she was brought into this world on April 9, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She spent her early years in Melbourne, Iowa and graduated from the Melbourne High School. On June 25, 1960 she was united in marriage to Duane Klosterman in Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa. The two made their lives together on the farm and enjoyed every moment even when things were hard.  She was a proud famer’s wife helping every chance that she could. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In Sharon’s free time she loved to quilt and read, sadly she had to give those joys up after her sight worsened. Even through her struggles Sharon had an uncanny ability to bring joy into people’s lives, she always made sure that when you saw her you left with a smile. Sharon touched many lives and will be mourned by her family and countless friends. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Duane, children: Kristine (Laura) Klosterman, Bonnie (Cecil) Dempster and two other children. Grandchildren: Ashley (Zach) Granzow, Megan Wilker, and Tiffany (Andrew) Freese, great-grandchildren: Bladen, Morgan, Brooke, Chaston, Bentley, Westen, and Riley, and her four legged friend Laney. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Vola, and her brother Gary Dannen.
