Sharon Rasmussen

Sharon L. Rasmussen, 76, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the evening of August 15, 2020 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa with her family at her side. A memorial service for Sharon will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Sharon Lee Conrad was born March 30, 1944 to parents Harold and Phyllis (Batesole) Conrad in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended school in the Union-Whitten Community School and graduated in the class of 1963. After graduation Sharon worked at the Hunter café, Fisher Governor Co. and the Marshalltown Community School District. On July 1, 1966, Sharon married Carl Rasmussen at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon in Dillon, Iowa. In her free time, she liked to be outside in the garden and helping Carl with the hogs they raised. She enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling, taking walks and sewing. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her husband Carl; her children, Valerie (Derek) Brewer of Boone, Iowa and Brock Rasmussen of Marshalltown, Iowa; two granddaughters, Keilah and Linnéa Brewer; two sisters, Denise (Drew) Lewis and Jana (Clark) Crane. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Phyllis; her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her brother Craig Conrad.
