Sharon Sue "Sherry" Dooley

Sharon (Sherry) Sue Dooley, age 73 of Marshalltown passed away on October 29th, 2023, at Accura Healthcare.

She was born on September 15th, 1950. She is the daughter of Leonard Lyle and Margaret Ann Carter of Altoona, Ia. She was married to Daniel Webster Dooley on July 19th, 1968, at the Ivy Centennial Methodist Church in Altoona, Ia. He preceded her in death on January 25th, 2018.

She is a graduate of SE Polk High School, graduating in 1968. She was a stay-at-home mom, hairdresser, and worked many years for the Iowa Health Systems. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, cooking, and opening her heart and home to anyone who needed it at any time.

Sharon is survived by her children Lori Choate-Trusheim (Steve), Chris Dooley, Wendy Poudrier (Brent), and Aaron Dooley. Grandchildren Kelsey DePoorter (Justin), Andrew Choate (Misty), Katelynn Mann (Decker), Brice Trusheim (Lindsey), Kyle Dooley, Zoey Woods (Brendon), Ethan Anderson, and Carter Dooley. 12 great grandchildren with one more, Montana Mann, blessing us soon. Brother Scott Carter (Becky), Sister-in-law Debbie Carter, Pat LaFary (Dale), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who she adored.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son Eric Wayne Dooley, her parents, brother Steve Carter, brother-in-law Max Dooley Jr, Sister-in-law Sharon Dooley, and Parents-in-law Max and Rose Dooley.

Per her wishes and her family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
