Born Sharon Tidball on June 27th, 1941, in Flint, MI., she was the daughter of Sherman and Jeanette (Davidson) Tidball. She graduated from the Rembrandt (Iowa) High School in 1959 and later the Methodist School of Nursing in Sioux City. On October 2nd, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ronald Wheater at the Methodist Church in Marshalltown. They made their home on the farm west of town where he raised dairy cattle. From July 4th, 1963, she was employed at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown and later Evangelical until 1968, upon the birth of their daughter, Susan. Sharon was a woman of faith and had a thirst for reading the bible daily and challenging herself to learn more about it. She was active in the Albion Presbyterian Church and was involved in the Presbyterian Women, an elder and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed history, nature, taking school children on tours of the dairy farm (with homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk of course), cooking for those helping on the farm, and attending Susan’s school functions and 4-H events. Her time with her family was precious and her pride of grandchildren was close to her heart. Knowing she is with her Savior and Lord is her daughter, Susan (Charlie) Rainsbarger and their children Hallee, Ethan and Logan; her siblings: Millie Horvath and her family- Jim (Cindy) Horvath, Janelle (Zach) Schmuki (Josh and Arianna); Victor (Deb) Tidball and their family- Amber (Jeff) Spagna (Ashlin, Jordan and Dylan), Brandon (Stephanie) Tidball (Ava and William) and Cameron (Angie) Tidball (Addisen and Brynnen); and Esther (Doug) Jacobson; as well as many cousins and friends. In heaven, Sharon rejoined her beloved Ron, her parents and many other family members.
