Sheila Ann Bachman

Dedicated wife and mother, Sheila Ann Bachman, age 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on December 30, 2025, at UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown.

Sheila was born on September 29, 1960, at Community Hospital in Fremont, Nebraska. Sheila was deeply influenced by her parents, Dean LeRoy Way and Jean (Miller) Way, who instilled in her values of hard work and compassion. She graduated from Villisca High School, laying the foundation for a career that included serving as a bank loan secretary and later as a secretary in the law office of Joel Greer. Her professionalism and commitment were evident in every role she undertook, earning her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

On October 11, 2008, Sheila married Jerry Steven Bachman, embarking on a journey filled with love and companionship. Together, they created lasting memories, rooted in mutual respect and joy. In her leisure time, Sheila found joy in various hobbies and interests, especially crafting. The holiday season held a special place in her heart, particularly Christmas, which she celebrated with enthusiasm and creativity. Shopping was not just a pastime for Sheila; it was a way to express her thoughtfulness and personality.

Sheila's legacy will be remembered by her family and friends, including her husband, Jerry Bachman; children: LeAnn (Trent) Eggman of Randall, IA, Doug Mitchell and Aaron (Amanda) Mitchell, both of Ottumwa, and Dan (Brianna) Mitchell of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Dawson, Amara, Jared, Jace, Bailey, Josie, Norah, Lily, Claire, and Savannah; one great-grandson, Beau; her siblings: Lori Peek, Byron (Karen) Way and Brenda (Pat) Doll; and her best friend who was more like a sister, Belinda (Randy) Jay, their children and their families. Preceding her in death are her parents, Jean and Dean Way; and her mother-in-law, Micky Bachman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada, Iowa. Memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
