Sherry Lloyd

Sherry Lloyd, 81, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 15, 2022 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

Sherry Ilene Thomas was born on July 3, 1941 to parents Clarence Thomas and Mary Cavanaugh (Nelson). Sherry grew up around the Marshalltown area and attended school in Albion, Iowa. She later graduated from the Albion Consolidated School. She furthered her education and received her nursing degree. Sherry lived and worked in nursing for many years in Iowa and then moved to California. She retired from nursing after over 40 years and moved from California and called Iowa home once again.

In her free time, Sherry was a collector of cabbage patch kids and other dolls, she enjoyed taking occasional trips to the casino, and loved to spend time with her family. She liked to be at home and to help others.

Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her siblings, Marlys Keeler, Margaret Vannatta, Robert (Marcia) Thomas, Marvin (Joan) Thomas, and Tom Cavanaugh; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Clarence Thomas and Mary Cavanaugh; her siblings, Paul Thomas, Richard Thomas, Dorothy Sutherland, Patty Hanegan; her brothers and sisters-in-law Lorraine Thomas, Shirley Thomas, Bob Sutherland, Gary Hanegan, Virgil Keeler, and Dan Vannetta.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Eileen, Penny, and Jim for care and compassion shown to Sherry.
