Born Shirley Louise Beeghly on August 10th, 1939, at Whitten, Iowa, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Elizabeth Beryl (Van Voltinbergh) Beeghly. She attended school in Conrad.
Shirley was an amazingly dedicated and energetic woman. She cleaned motor coaches for Marshall Motor Coach, took care of the laundry at Bizio’s Thunderbird and did housecleaning and ironing. Family dinners ended with Shirley cleaning up everything so her family could enjoy each other’s company. Countless miles were spent walking where she met so many people. She never knew a stranger.
In 2011, she fell in love with the Space Shot at Adventureland Park. Two years later, she established her all-time highest number of rides by going 182 times in a day. In 2014, Des Moines TV stations acknowledged her unique and incredible accomplishment alongside staff from Adventureland. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Linda Tasler of Linn Valley and brother Hugh Beeghly of Conrad as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In death, she rejoined her parents, sister Marceda Bevins and brother-in-law Robert Tasler.
