Shirley Ann Hoyla, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on

Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Harmony Marshalltown.

her family.

Shirley Osborn was born on April 4, 1945 in Newton, Iowa.

She was one of twelve children born to Fred and Violet (Brown)

Osborn. Shirley grew up on the family farm in the Newton

area. She was a graduate of Newton High School. Shirley

enjoyed gardening, watching westerns and had a love of Mother

Nature. She was an avid animal lover and cherished the dogs

and cats she had over the years. They were her “fur-babies”.

Left to cherish Shirley’s memory is her children: Tammy Smith

of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and Tony Hoyla of Indianola, Iowa.

Grandchildren: Holly, Marissa, Jared, Trevor, Tyler, Hailey and

great grandson: Isaiah. She is also survived by her brothers Stan,

Steve, Chuck and Joe and sister Patty.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Violet, as

well as two brothers and four sisters.
