Shirley Westrum Mattson, child of God, is safely home in heaven, (John 3:16) arriving November 3, 2023.

Shirley Geraldine Westrum was born March 7, 1937 in Webster City, Iowa to Sidney and Geri Westrum. She spent her childhood on a farm near Stratford, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Gary Mattson on August 17, 1958. She and Gary had three children, Stephanie Jo, John Gregory, and Jay Gary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Brittney, and grandson Samuel. She is survived by her husband Gary, her children, Stephanie and Steve Steveson, John and Christy Mattson and Jay and Rachelle Mattson; one sister Arlene and Jerold Chally; one brother-in-law, Milt Mattson and Jane Ham, and sister-in-law Helen Mattson; grandchildren, Katie and Jeff Backlin, Joshua and Ashley Mattson, Carly Steveson, Tony and Amanda Mattson, Mackenzie and Darrin Graham, Samantha and Connor Brennan, David Mattson, Jared Mattson, and Noelani Mattson; and great-grandchildren, Elliot, Finn, and Lucy Backlin, James and Ava Mattson, Amelia and Andrew Brennan, and Evangeline and Theadora Graham.
