Shirley D. Randall

Shirley D. Randall, age 95, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Southridge Nursing and Rehab.

A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown. Pastor Jerry Newswander will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery. Shirley Deloris (Johnson) Randall was born on February 26, 1930, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ole and Lulu (Elliott) Johnson. On November 8, 1946, Shirley married the love of her life, Dale Randall. In her younger years, she attended school in Marshalltown, IA. before starting her working career. Shirley originally worked at The Spring Factory and then transitioned into housekeeping at Marshalltown Medical Center in the OBGYN unit until her retirement in 1988. She also had the opportunity to live in various places in the United States, for example Marshalltown, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Berthod, Colorado.

In her free time, Shirley enjoyed embroidering, hiking, sightseeing, playing cards, traveling to Wisconsin Dells and watching the Tommy Barlett Water show. In her younger years she also enjoyed roller skating and dancing at Forrest Park Ball Room. During her time at Southridge, she enjoyed watching the geese at the pond and participating in the craft activities.

She is survived by her children: Doug (Krystal) Randall, Russ Randall, and Diane Adams; her grandchildren: Tyler Randall, Bailee (Jared) Burks, Hunter Randall, Riley Petersen, Trae Petersen, Tanya Adams, Tamara Adams, Dana Adams, and Deana (Jeff) Davis; her great grandchildren: Charlie Randall, Amelia Randall, Easton Randall, and Jaxon Petersen; her sister, Deloris (Danny) Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her children: Debbie Sims and Lori Oates; her grandson Aaron Randall; her parents: Ole and Lulu; and her five siblings: Delbert, Virgil, Martin, Ailene and Dixie.
