Sindy Ann Smith

Sindy Ann Smith, 47, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. also at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers; memorials should be directed toward the Animal Rescue League in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Sindy and her family. Sindy Smith was born on January 18, 1967, to Rex Smith and Mary Joan Newman (Pickle). Sindy graduated from BCL High School. In 2006, Sindy was united in marriage to David Welch in Marshalltown. Sindy had been employed with Marshalltown Company for fifteen years. Sindy loved spending time with her dog; Angel, enjoying riding the motorcycle and spending time with her children Cody Nehring and Tiffany Welch and her grandsons Rorick and Austin. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of eight years; David. Father: Rex Smith. Children: Cody Wayne Nehring (Meagan McCamis), Tiffany (Andrew Welch) Rena and her precious dog, Angel Sage Smith. Adopted mother: Bonnie Smith. Grandchildren: Rorick Nehring and Austin Welch. Brothers: Stewart Smith, Shannon Smith, and Darrell Essen. Sisters: Sally Jones (her twin), Marjorie Smith, Tessia Mathes and Tracy Smith. Other survivors include her Aunt and Uncle; Sandy and Ronald Kaufmann Jr. Grandfather: Ronald Kaufmann Sr. and Aunt Ardis Bach. Sindy is preceded in death by her mother Mary Joan Pickle. Grandparents: Mabel Jean Kaufmann, Marjorie and Les Fink, Kathryne and Percy Pickle, Aunt Marian Pickle and niece Melissa Marie Mathes.
