Skoky Strohm a beloved father, son, brother and friend of Brooklyn, Iowa and formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the age of 34.
Services for Skoky will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 28 from 6:30 until 8:30 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials in Skoky’s name may be designated to the family for a later designation. Skoky Gene Stohm was born June 9, 1991 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Robert Strohm and Kim Woosley. Skoky grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa where he also attended school. Following graduation, Skoky worked in Marshalltown at the Central Iowa Truck Wash for a number of years as well as Little Man’s Auto alongside his father. After moving to Brooklyn, Iowa he worked for Jeld-Wen in Grinnell, TPI and made many friends during his time at Van Nevel Coatings and Restoration over the last few years. He was a proud father of four children, Skoky Jr., Isaiah, Brayden and Cynthia.
In his free time, he enjoyed taking rides on his Yamaha R-1 motorcycle, tinkering in the garage with cars, woodworking projects and creating different things. He had a passion for artwork and worked on various paintings. Additionally, he liked to work on gardening, canning in the fall, baking desserts, trips to the casino and playing mobile slot games. Family was extremely important to him and he always loved putting a smile on others faces.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Skoky Strohm Jr., Isaiah Good, Brayden Nelson and Cynthia Ochoa; his mother, Kim Woosley; his siblings, Kenny “KP” Parham and Cecelie Van Nevel. Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephews, Shyla Van Nevel, Roscoe Van Nevel, Archer Gene Schwab, Aliya Kluck, Amiya Kluck, Kaiden Kluck, Ashlyn Kluck and Gatlin Kluck; numerous aunts and uncles; special close friend Natalie Purdy; and his bonus moms, Dana Senethavysouk and Carey Meling and bonus dads Kenny Parham and Scott Giannetto.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Strohm; brother, Robbi Kluck; and his grandparents, Gene and Donna Strohm, Dean and Anna Welton and Terry Woosley.
