Sophia loved spending time with her dad and all of his friends and especially enjoyed watching them play soccer. She loved to get her nails done with her mom and sister, Emily and making her mom laugh. She loved her “girl time” with her grandma, just chilling on the coach and eating chips. Grandpa and the kids would spend hours in the shop doing handy work. She loved riding her grandpa’s gator and golf cart. She loved hanging out with her sister, Emily and Lainey and going to do their nails. Sophia would make the girls raise their arms every morning before school to make sure their shirts did not show their stomach and if it did, they had to change. Her friendship with her sister, Emily grew every day, with Sophia claiming they “don’t look alike at all” (ha ha). She also enjoyed spending time with her brother Alex, mostly just hanging out. They had a bond like no other children. She loved to play basketball at the park. Sophia loved the colors purple and teal. She was very artistic and loved to draw and paint. She loved animals and was always trying to talk Grandpa into getting another dog. She loved going shopping, especially with her mom, “Wonder Woman” or grandma, who could never tell her “NO” (as evident with the 500 fidgets and Pop-Its that she owned). She enjoyed bossing her brother, Keyshawn around when he would not do his chores. She also loved to tease Keyshawn about his friendship with Nate, the neighbor. She had a special friendship with the two neighbor girls, Libby and CeCe. They were so close and played outside all summer long. She loved seeing her cousin Jaylan when he would visit. They grew up together riding with her mom back and forth from Cedar Rapids when they were younger. Her smile melted the hearts of her uncles and aunts. She enjoyed using Messenger Kids with her cousin Kinder, Shelby and Leila almost every night and her friends during the day. Sophia loved visiting Sheldon to see dad’s family. She also loved going to visit Brenda and Deme’s family bar. Sophia loved going to LeMars, where her mom grew up and visiting Wells Blue Bunny. One of her favorite memories was on the 4th of July watching the fireworks with Joe, Dawn and Megan and visiting their puppies. Sophia was a sort of tomboy when it came to playing with all the neighbor kids. Then when someone said “nail salon,” she switched to all-girl mode. She was a typical little girl; always doing well in school and helping Mrs. Roseland keep the class in line. She will always be a part of the Class of 2029 of East Marshall. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Moises and Megan; her siblings: Keyshawn Estberg and Emily and Alex Juarez- Bautista; grandparents Gary and Tracy Catron of Gilman and grandma Maria Ofelia Juarez-Bautista of Mexico; her aunts and uncles: uncle Lindsay (Emily) Catron-Bellevue and their kids: Jaylan and Kinder of Nolan, NE, uncle Ryan (Tiffany) Catron of Mingo, IA, aunt Candelaria Juarez-Bautista and kids of Mexico, uncle Francisco (Juana Candelario-Dominguez) Juarez-Bautista and kids of Mexico, uncle Antonio (Claudia Reynosa-Lucas) Juarez-Bautista and kids of Mexico, aunt Conception (Augustin Candelario-Domingquez) Juarez-Bautista and kids of Mexico, aunt Carmen Juarez-Bausta and kids of CA, aunt Ofelia (Vicente Arturo Delores) Juarez-Bautista and kids of Mexico and uncle Jose Juan Juarez-Bautista of Mexico ; great-grandpa John (Maggie) Catron of Marshalltown, IA; great-uncle John Catron and his family, Madeline & Shelby of Wichita Falls, TX; her dogs: Charming, Snowball and Princess and her cat, Queeny Reba. She is also survived by her special friends, “Wonder Woman,” Kendra (Jim) Happe, and Donavan, Alainey and Bryton of Laurel, IA, who have become family, her neighborhood friends that have become her extended family, her 5th grade classmates at East Marshall Middle School and all of you who have become such an important part of Miss Sophia’s Village. Sophia is preceded in death by her grandma Lori (Maulsby) Klienbeil; grandpa, Martin Juarez-Cano; her great-grandpa and great-grandma Kenneth and Donna (Maulsby) Chicken; great-grandma, Sharon Burns; her great-great grandpas and grandmas and her friend, Alicia Bolen. The family would like to extend a big thank you to Grinnell Hospice care and especially her nurse, Angie Wilson. - Lovingly written by her family
