Stanley D. Stan Davis, 81, of Marshalltown and formerly of Clemons, died Friday, January 8th, 2010, while in the care of Villa Del Sol. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13th at the Clemons Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Stan Davis was born on September 1st, 1928 at his familys farm in rural Clemons to parents Fred and Florene (Kersey) Davis. Stan grew up on the family farm and attended Clemons High School, graduating in 1946. On January 1st, 1949, Stan was united in marriage to Rosie Diser at the LeGrand Friends Church. The couple made their home in Clemons, and then Marshalltown, where Stan worked at Lennox from 1955 until his retirement in 1992. Stan loved hunting with his son, brother, and nephews, as well as fishing and camping with his granddaughters and family. Stan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, including his children: Phyllis Davis of Marshalltown and Michael (Robyn) Davis of Maxwell; his granddaughters: Emily (Scot) Moore of St. Charles, MO, Jeni Davis of Columbia, MO, and Maggie Davis of Nevada, IA; his great-grandson Will Moore of St. Charles, MO; his sister-in-laws: Elsie Davis, Carolyn Pitt, and Ruth Diser; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In death, Stan has rejoined his parents, his wife Rosie (2009), a brother in infancy, his brother Allen Davis, and his sister Marlys Davis.
