Stanley Rebik, age 85, of Marshalltown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 30th.           A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10th, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Fr. Don Czapla as officiant. Since red was his favorite color, you are invited to wear red to the service in his honor. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on July 30th, 1933, at Clutier, IA, he was the youngest of five children born to Louis and Julia (Pusteoska) Rebik. He received his education in the area of his birth.           Stan served our country in the United States Army. During this time, he just cut his fellow serviceman’s hair for fun. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Marshalltown to begin work at Fisher Controls- then the “love of cutting hair” sent him to barber school. Stan could account for thousands of gentlemen young and old having a great haircut. Even after retirement, he returned to barber after the passing of barber Bud Otte at his shop on South 3rd Avenue.           On December 29th, 1954, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Ila Shuler, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown.           Stan was a man of strong work ethic. He and his beloved Ila would often work way into the night on five rental properties after working a full day. He was a man of strong faith and good character always giving to others. Most of all, his family was priority. On their 50th anniversary, he and Ila took the family on a cruise. They had so much fun, the grandkids convinced him to do some more haircuts and go again! Two years later, they were all back aboard and celebrating being a family. He also enjoyed Lake Ponderosa, trips to Texas in the winter, fishing and wood-working. Stan had a love of bright colors and admired people who wore them- he felt it made them happier.           Mr. Rebik was a member of St. Henry’s Parish, the Marshalltown Evening Lion’s Club, and offered a helping hand where needed.           Left to cherish his memory are his five children- Sam (Margaret) Rebik of Gilman, Willis (Lisa) Rebik of Parker, CO, Deb (Rick) Hiner of Centennial, CO, Steve (Cheryl) Rebik of Aurora, CO and Doug Rebik of Altoona, IA; grandchildren- Misty(Damien), Ricky (Katie), Julia, Kyle Ross, Christina, Kyle William, Austin, Jordan and Madisen, great-grandson Noah Richard and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.           In death, he rejoined his beloved wife of 62 years, Ila, his parents, brothers Harry and Irwin and sisters Lucille and Bernice.
