Stephen Ryan Dainty

Stephen Ryan Dainty, 34, of Marshalltown, formerly of Des Moines, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Per the wishes of Stephen and his family, cremation rites have been accorded and a service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation. Stephen and his family have entrusted Mitchell Family Funeral Home with their care. Born on September 22, 1986 in Iowa City, he was the son of Stephen York and Sara Jean (Isenhower) Dainty. Most people knew him as Stephen, but his family always called him Ryan. He grew up in Des Moines, graduating from North High School in 2005. Stephen most recently worked at Lennox in Marshalltown. On May 21, 2020 he was united in marriage to Jessa Barbasan in Manilla, Philippines. Stephen loved to travel and enjoyed cooking. He also liked watching football and would choose his favorite team based on how low they were ranked the year before. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jessa Dainty; his father, Stephen Dainty and step-mom Nancy Rust; his siblings: Elizabeth (Jimmy) Dainty, Ross Dainty and Thomas Dainty; grandparents: Kay Dainty and Ike and Jean Isenhower; nieces: Elena and Bella; nephews: Gina and Dominic and many aunts, uncles and cousins. In death, Stephen is reunited with his mother, Sara and his paternal grandfather, Bud Dainty.
