Stephen Reed Maley

Stephen Hillbilly Reed Maley, 72, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home. Per Steves request there are currently no services planned. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Stephen Maley was born on May 10, 1943 in Anamosa, Iowa to Berdell and Kathleen Shifflett Maley. On June 30, 2000, Steve was united in marriage to Linda Hauser in Marshalltown. Steve had been employed for 20 plus years as an over the road semi driver, Construct Inc. and Manatts of Brooklyn before retiring in 2005. Steve loved fishing, camping, enjoying wildlife and nature and spending time with his family and friends. He never knew a stranger and was the best neighbor ever. Left to cherish Steves memory is his wife of 15 years; Linda. Children: Vickie (Brian) Lemke of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott (Tammy) Maley of Knoxville and step son Jeffrey (Becky) Dent of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Siblings: Carmella (Al) Boos of Phoenix, Arizona, Kathy (Jeff) Wickman, Joyce Maley, Kelly Maley all of Cedar Rapids and Julie (Jeff) Vorhies of Fort Madison and several nieces and nephews. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Berdell and Kathleen.
