Steve F. Asche

Steven F. Asche, age 50, of Beaman, formerly of Spalding, NE, passed away Friday, January 4, 2008 at his home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Spalding with Revs. Joe Hannappel, Don Czapla and Jim Murphy officiating. The visitation will be Tuesday, January 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at St. Michaels Church. Burial will be in St. Michaels Cemetery. Local arrangements have been entrusted by the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. www.mitchellfh.com Steve was born September 15, 1957, in Columbus, NE to Clinton and Jean (Steiner) Asche. Steve attended rural grade school near Columbus. In 1968, Steve moved with his family to Spalding. He graduated from Spalding Public school in 1975. Steve worked for Greeley County, Spalding Implement and most recently State Steel. On August 12, 1995, Steve married Connie Dozler at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Albion, NE. To this union two children were born Luke and Erin. Steve was a Third Degree Knights of Columbus. Stevens hobbies included restoring tractors, auctions and picking the opposing team when Nebraska played football. Steve is survived by his wife, Connie and children, Luke and Erin; his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Eric Stahl of Kearney; 7 brothers and 5 sisters-in-law Jim and Loretta of Malcolm, Charlie of Grand Island, Gerald and Gladys of Spalding, Tom and Sherry of Spalding, Paul and Jennifer ONeill, Mark of Spalding and Matt and Jennifer of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law and mother-in-law Don and Ella Mae Dozler of Albion; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law David and Lisa Dozler and Dick and Sherry Dozler of Albion; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cyndee and David Merrell of St. Edward; 13 nephews and 14 nieces and 4 great-nieces.
