Steve Opperman

Stephen Opperman, age 65, of Marshalltown, passed away Thursday morning, August 13th, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.           Per his wishes, cremation rites have occurred and no services will be held at this time. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on April 22nd, 1955, in Marshalltown, he was one of four boys born to Harold and Fern (Bales) Opperman. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School.           Steve was gifted in repairs and carpentry and assisted many in the community with his art. In years past, he enjoyed bowling and was recognized by many in that field for his outstanding ability.           Left to cherish his memory are Kari Smith Underhill, his longtime companion of 21 years; three brothers- Gary, Larry and Dennis, Kari’s son Tre’ and daughter Rylie, and many friends, nieces and nephews and other family.           In death, Steve rejoined his parents.
