Steve Rector

Steven Rector, 60, of Titonka, Iowa, passed away in Mason City on July 14, 2014. Steves family will greet friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. There will be no formal services. Steve Rector was born in Oceanside, California, on August 31, 1953 to Thomas and Ardis (Throop) Rector OBrien. He graduated from Marshalltown High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree. Steve married Shirley Kutzner on November 4, 1971, at St. Marys Catholic Church. The couple later divorced. He worked for Fisher Controls for 19 years, was employed at Interface, and owned his own business. Steve was also the State Coordinator for ABATE of Iowa. He will be remembered for his love of motorcycles and trout fishing. Left to cherish Steves memory are his children, Andrea (Scott) Towne, and Stacey (Zach Ridout) Bockes. Grandchildren: Mariah and Conner Bockes; and Nicholas and MacKenzie Towne. His mother, Ardis (Throop) Rector OBrian; brother, Dennis Rector; great aunt, Arlene Otto; his ex-wife, Shirley Tempel and fianc, Tammy Householder. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rector; and his grandparents on both sides of the family.
