Steve Sincox

Steven Michael Sincox, 48, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.  Funeral services for Steve will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will take place prior to the service, starting at 12:00 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the family for designation at a later time. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Steve and his family.  Steven Michael Sincox was born on April 7, 1970 in Springfield, Illinois to Tom Sincox and Patricia Anderson Sincox. Steve attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and became a licensed Professional Engineer. On May 20, 1995, Steve was united in marriage to Colleen Tracey in Ottumwa, Iowa. Steve had worked for the Marshalltown Water Works and in 2008 became the General Manager and CEO of the department. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Marshalltown Economic Development, East Marshall Boosters Club, and the United Way. Steve enjoyed fixing and building things. He also liked to go camping, coach baseball, rock music, and ultimately loved the time he spent with his family.  Steve will be missed by his wife of twenty-three years, Colleen, as well as their children: Grant, Cayla, and Max. He is also survived by his father: Tom Sincox; brothers: Brian (Patti) Sincox of Ottumwa, Brad (Randi) Sincox of Montezuma, and his mother and father-in-law: John and Elaine Tracey of Epworth, Iowa.  Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, as well as his brother-in-law and best friend, Terry Tracey.
