Steven Michael Ballalatak

Steven M. Ballalatak, 51, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023.

Services for Steven will take place on Saturday, December 23 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 10:00 A.M. Steven Michael Ballalatak was born on March 22, 1972 in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents Lawrence “Larry” and Joyce (Christy) Ballalatak. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1990. He spent 25 years in Cedar Rapids, where he dedicated 20 years of his career in concrete and construction working for Cutter Construction. In his free time, Steve enjoyed racing cars, RC cars, gambling, MMA fights and playing cards. He was also an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed going antiquing. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Madeline Ballalatak, Josepha Ballalatak and Laynie Grulkey; his mother, Joyce Ballalatak; two brothers: Tom (Anne) Ballalatak and Don (Sage) Ballalatak; and his nieces and nephews: Kathryn Klingbeil and Jack, Grace, Isabelle, Lucy, Joseph, Ruby, Jesse, Jon, Abby and Maggie Ballalatak.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, Larry Ballalatak.
