Steven Edwards, age 42, of Tama, departed this life on the night of Tuesday, January 3, 2017. A memorial gathering will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Steven and his family. Phone 641-844-1234. Steven Wayne Edwards was born on June 13, 1974 in Iowa City to Robert Lee and Sabilla Pearl (Gibson) Edwards. He graduated from the South Tama County High School in 1992. Steve shared 26 years with Jamie Masterson in which together, they lovingly raised Steven Edwards, Jr. Steve enjoyed watching WWE and playing video games. He loved to cheer on the Miami Dolphins, the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes. He lived through his music, which would often lead to neighborhood music wars from his man cave. Left to cherish his memory are Jamie Masterson; his children: Steven Edwards, Jr. (Tami McBride) of Tama; Lynnette Rasmussen of Marshalltown and Derek Ray Edwards of Marshalltown; granddaughter, Addilynn Edwards; brother John and two sisters, Kathy and Deb. In death Steve rejoins his parents and brother Robert Lee Edwards, Jr.
