Steven Hazen

Steven Lynn Hazen, 62, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011, in Clarinda. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 8th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Born on March 20, 1948, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Harlan and Dorothy (Slifer) Hazen. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School Class of 1966 and attended college after that time.On October 29, 1983, he was united in marriage to Carol Morgan in Boone, Iowa. They made their home in Marshalltown where he was employed Fisher Controls and then later at CIRSI. Steve was a member of the Assembly of God and enjoyed Civil War reenactment, woodworking, art, the outdoors, and was very strong in his faith.Steve will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Carol, his children: Kristen Hazen of Marshalltown, Randy (Teri) Hazen of Norwalk, Doug (Jennifer) Hazen of Waukee, Bobby (Jasmine) Hazen of Marshalltown and Gregory Hazen of Marshalltown, his precious grandchildren: Emily, Lance, Rosie, Erech, Brendan, Brett, Avery, Cael and Tahlia, his siblings: Larry Hazen of Lakeview, Arkansas, Kenny Hazen of Marshalltown, Sharon Blunk of Stratford, Iowa, his parents Harlan and Dorothy of Marshalltown and many nieces, nephews, friends and former wife, Marlene (Russell)Hazen whom he married on November 24, 1967.
