Steve Koch

Steven G. Koch, age 69 of Traer, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 19, 2026 in Waterloo.

Steven Gregory Koch was born on September 29, 1957 in Marshalltown, the first child of Ronald E. and Ann Grace (Elmore) Koch. He graduated from BCL High School in 1975 and continued his education at Hawkeye Tech for Auto Body Repair.

Steve had several careers in life, including auto body repair, working on the pipeline, cross country trucker, Swift/JBS, and seasonally at Beck’s Seed Company. He took an early retirement after suffering health effects from a stroke.

Steve enjoyed traveling across the state to enjoy various restaurants and casinos. He truly treasured his family and spending time with them.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents: Ronald Koch, Ann and Robert Stephenson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Diane Koch of Chelsea, and her family; uncle Melvin Koch of Conrad; and his cousins and extended family.
