Steven Lawrence Schneider

Steven Lawrence Schneider, 50, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Marshalltown, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, in Joplin of natural causes. Following cremation, memorial services for Steven will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 3, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed in Stevens name to his family. He was raised and educated in the Marshalltown school system before moving to the Lewisville, Texas area where Steven graduated from the Lewisville, Texas High School. He was married to Audrey Pennington on August 22, 1979 in Marshalltown, Iowa. To this marriage of 20 years three children were born. Steven later married Nancy LaMarr in Miami, Oklahoma on May 6, 2008. Steven was a graduate of Hawkeye Tech and was employed at A&J Bodyshop, Kiowa and Dunham-Bush. Steven was currently employed by Leggett & Platt in Carthage, Missouri.Steven loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed working on cars out of his home with his son Michael. They spent many days together completing auto-body repair and painting. Steven enjoyed fishing on the Iowa River, snowmobiling, hunting and gardening. He was a member of the Central Iowa Snowmobiliers Association and was active in grooming the trails for the local snowmobilers.Steven is survived by his wife Nancy Schneider of Joplin, Missouri, his daughter Michelle (Chad) Maas of Indianola, Iowa, his son Michael (Jen) Schneider of Ottawa, Kansas, his daughter Melinda Schneider of Maryville, Missouri, his stepchildren Jamie and Dustin Patterson, his parents Velma and Elrede Schneider of Marshalltown, his brother Eldon (Monica) Schneider of Marshalltown, his brother George (Maureen) Schneider of Urbandale, his sister Chris (Wes) Richardson of Montour, his sister Patty (Sam) Evans of Godly, Texas, his five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents and his granddaughter Chyanne Wind.
