Sue Quaife, 64, of Marshalltown, died early Tuesday morning, August 23rd, at the Iowa River Hospice House while in their care and that of her loving family.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Born Susan Kay Johnson on May 11, 1947, in Eldora, she was the daughter of Cal and Ruth (Allen) Johnson. She graduated from the Eldora High Schools Class of 1965 and later the Marshalltown Community College in 1967.On June 29th, 1968, she was united in marriage to Peter Quaife at the First Baptist Church in Eldora. They have made Marshalltown their home for 43 years where she was employed with Lennox; she was a daycare provider, AEA 6 and most recently Mediacom for 13 years until retiring.Sue attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Marshalltown; she enjoyed teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She treasured her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildrens music and athletic programs, watching Bobcat Basketball, going to garage sales, listening to Christian and Country music, shopping for the grandkids, going to craft shows, time with her dogs and having a smile for all to remember. She will be greatly missed.Left to cherish her memory is Peter, her loving husband of 43 years, her children: Kari (Dan) Diggins of Oskaloosa, Kyle Quaife of Colorado and Kelly (Jon) Harms of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren- Braden, Jordan and Kirstin Diggins and Grant, Jared and Bryce Harms as well as her brother Allen (Deb) Johnson of Eldora and many friends.In death, she rejoined her parents.
