Sultan "Sully" showed up on our doorstep the 1st day we moved into our house in Marshalltown in May of 2016. Once Sully showed up he let us know he picked us to be his mom and dad and he never wandered off. He was most likely abandoned but we wanted to make sure he didn't have a home before bringing him inside. He stayed outside for 2 weeks and in that short time he had me trained to spoil him. I would give him a little vanilla ice-cream in the afternoon since it was warm. I put ice in his water bowl and Sully would let me know when it got warm so I would change it. In the mornings when I fed our 2 cats that were already inside he would stand on the deck railing so I could see him, it was like he was making sure I didn't forget him. After the 2 weeks were up we brought him inside and spoiled him rotten. Sully was a character and had a huge personality. His first love in life was food. Everyday he would grab my husband Mark's ankles and meow (which was more of a cackle than a meow) and sure enough he got 5 to 6 breakfasts every day. Mark and I always joked that Sully had hollow legs as he could put away a lot of food at once. Sully was the first to greet us whenever we came home and loved to snuggle. His fur was so soft like a bunny so one a his nicknames was "My bunny boy" among others. Sully welcomed 6 more rescued cats into our home and he must have taught them all how to get what they wanted from us. He also loved when I would dump catnip on the kitchen floor and he would roll in it and have it in his fur from head to tail. Sully was thought to be eleven, or maybe older. We certainly loved every day he was with us.
