Susan A. Eggers, 55, of State Center, Iowa passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the funeral home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Phone 641-844-1234. Susan Arlene Runner was born on February 5, 1958 in Marshalltown, Iowa; she was the daughter of Sidney and Louretta (Gooding) Runner. Susan attended school in the Marshalltown School District graduating with the class of 1976; she then went on to take some classes at Marshalltown Community College. On April 23, 1983, Susan was united in marriage to Timothy Eggers at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillon, after their marriage they had resided in Marshalltown until 1990, and then made their home in State Center. Susan worked at several local stores and businesses. Susan liked quilting, embroidery, and watching the birds at the back yard feeder; Susans passion was her dogs she loved them all especially Jasper who held a special place in her heart. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 30 years, Tim of State Center, Iowa. Daughters: Diana Eggers of Des Moines, Iowa and Laura Eggers of Ames, Iowa. Mother, Louretta Runner of Marshalltown, Iowa, siblings: Nancy (Fred) Sanders of Marshalltown, Iowa, Peggy (James) Twombley of Melbourne, Iowa and Jeffery (Michelle) Runner of Gilbert, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews and her 4 legged friend Jasper. In death Susan rejoins her dad, Sidney and her paternal and maternal grandparents and her 4 legged friends, Sam, Duke and Abbey. The family would like to thank all who cared for Susan while at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, Mary Greeley Medical Center ,William R. Bliss Cancer Center in Ames and Iowa River Hospice for all of their care, concern and compassion during this difficult time. God Bless you all.
