Susan M. (Novotny) Good, 42, of 204 North 3rd Street, Marshalltown, died early Friday morning, February 16th, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City after a long battle with breast cancer. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with Bobby Shomo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery north of LeGrand with a time of fellowship and refreshments to follow in the hospitality room of the funeral home. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born Susan Marie Novotny on June 4th, 1964, in St. Louis, MO., she was the daughter of Sylvester and Neva (Rankin) Novotny. She graduated from the West Marshall High School in 1982. Susan was united in marriage to Troy Good on March 2nd, 1995. She was employed at the Walgreens cosmetic department for many years and dearly loved and treasured her family, granddaughter Shay-Leigh and her dog, Mini. Her fight through this journey of breast cancer was not a selfish one - it was courageous, inspiring to others and in the end was truly won. Left to mourn her loss are her best friend, companion and husband, Troy Good, children: Joe, Steven, Moriah and Sarah, her parents Neva (Norman) Hampton of Rhodes, sisters and brother and their families: Arlene (Mike) Wenzel of Marshalltown (Joel, Jeremy and Becky), Cindy (Wes) Landis of Eldora (Jonathan, Courtney and Cody), Steven Novotny of Webster City (Stephanie, Amanda and Jessica), Mary (Bill) Prescott of Ankeny (Danielle) Laura (Randy) Davis of Webster City (Zachary, Jessica and Melissa), the Good family, the Potter family, the late Kim Marie Stevenson family, her dog, Mini, and numerous friends. In death, she has rejoined her father, Sylvester, daughter Rachel and grandparents.
