Susan Marie Hills

Susan Marie Hills, 72, of Conrad, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at MercyOne in Des Moines with her family by her side. Susan’s legacy will live on, as she gave the gift of life, as an organ donor.

Funeral services for Susan will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Susan Marie Green was born on August 21, 1951 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter to Ed and Blanche (Conrad) Green. Susan graduated from Beaman-Conrad High School in 1969 and later attended beautician school. On January 9, 1970, Susan was united in marriage to Floyd Hills in Marshalltown. They lived their married lives together in Conrad. Susan was a beautician and had worked at various retail locations. She was an avid camper and bowler. She loved cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and even owned her own fantasy football team. Along with football, Susan also enjoyed watching golf and cooking shows. She was known to be a “card shark” and had a love for all animals, and always had a pet of some sort.

Susan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Floyd; children: Robert (Bobbi) Hills of Marshalltown and Kristine (John) Wiegand of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Brenden (Kailey) Hills, Brittany Medina, Justin (Jessica) Hills, Malori (Ryan) Mayfield, Lindsay (Tyler) Cramer, Raymond Wiegand and Ashly Wiegand. Susan is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Rafael, Casyn, Lilianna, Ellie, Mateo, Westyn, Jordy, Charlee and Austyn with two on the way.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents: Ed and Blanche; father and mother-in-law: Floyd and Nellie Hills and sisters-in-law: Paulette and Joyce.
