Susan Jackson, 64, of State Center, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 under the care of the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Susan will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at State Center United Methodist Church in State Center. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in State Center. Memorials may be directed to the family. Susan Kay Jackson was born on April 27, 1951 in Marshalltown to Forrest Frog Edward and Thelma Majorie Kruse Jackson. Susan graduated from West Marshall High School with the class of 1969 and went on to Marshalltown Community College. Susan had been a CNA and lead nursing assistant for 30 years for Avalon Square, retiring in 2002. Susan was a member of the Methodist Ladies Aid and the State Center Garden Club. She enjoyed to travel everywhere, knitting, reading and won medals in her bowling leagues. Left to cherish Susans memory is her daughter Nanette Alexander of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Grandchildren: Najara Marie and Keira Adream Alexander of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Brother: Lee Toad (Vicky) Jackson and a very special friend Bruce Picard. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Thelma; sister Colleen Gravitt; grandparents and a niece Jennifer Jackson.
