Susan Untiedt, 65, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at home.Under direction of the family, memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Beaman United Methodist Church in Beaman, Iowa. Visitation will held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Mitchell Family Funeral in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Robert L. and Charlotte Faye (Barfels) Untiedt. She attended Beaman - Conrad School District, graduating with the class of 1965. She attended Marshalltown Community College and then attended Iowa School of Beauty. Susan had lived in Marshalltown owning her own salon and spa, The Headliner for over 35 years. Susan was a member of the Beaman United Methodist Church, Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce and a Chamber Board Member, very active in the CBD, a founding member of T.H.E. Group and on the Program Committee for Quakerdale. Susan enjoyed gardening, knitting, was a crafter of all kinds, and extremely creative and artistic. Susan loved family gatherings and will be remembered for her smile and her kindness as a 9th Street neighbor and beloved Aunt to children in the neighborhood.Left to cherish Susans memory are her mother, Charlotte Zern of Beaman, Iowa, her siblings: Judy (Allen) Morrow of West Branson, Missouri and Ann (Barry) Brockman of Iowa Falls, Iowa, 4 nephews and 1 niece, and 6 great nieces and nephews and a host of much loved friends.Susan was preceded by her father, Robert and step-father Leo Zern.
