Tammy Storjohann, 47, of Marshalltown, died peacefully, Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family while under their care and Iowa Hospice. Following cremation, a celebration of life service for Tammy will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 22, 2011, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Tammy will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may be directed in Tammys name to her family. Tammy was born September 8, 1963, in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Boyd and Frances (Frain) McVay. Their family lived in the Hamburg and Red Oak, Iowa, areas for several years before they settled in Marshalltown where Tammy attended the Marshalltown School System. Tammy was united in marriage to Mark Storjohann, on March 22, 2003, in Marshalltown, Iowa. During her lifetime Tammy worked for JDs Pub, Family Dollar, Git-n-Go, and the Carolina Inn. When Tammy had free time she enjoyed working in her yard, making crafts and especially fishing. Tammy and her husband Mark spent many afternoons, days and evenings fishing together at their favorite spots. Above all, Tammy lived for her grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by her family. Tammy is survived by her husband Mark of Marshalltown, her daughter Raelynn McVay of Marshalltown, her son Billy Bob Versteegh of Marshalltown, her step-son Travis Storjohann of Marshalltown, her five grandchildren: Sasha, Tyson, Shaelynn, Ashlyn and Hayliee, her brothers: Gary (Mary) McVay of Prole, Iowa, Bob (Cindy) McVay of Plano, Texas and Mike McVay of Hitchcock, South Dakota, her sisters: Midge Berens of Huron, South Dakota and Mary Ann (Daniel) Rensch of State Center, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews. Tammy was preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Frances and her sister.
