Ted 'Toad' Larson

Ted Toad Larson, 59, of Marshalltown passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa with his loving daughter and family by his side. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Following, there will be a Celebration of Teds life at the American Legion. Wear your Iowa Hawkeye gear to show your love for Ted and his love for his favorite team. Teddy Allen Larson was born on February 15, 1957, at Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Alfred Charles and Ruth (Berger) Larson. He attended school in the Marshalltown Community School graduating with the Class of 1975. Ted had many retail jobs over the years including Kmart and Totem Bowl in Marshalltown, Iowa. From childhood on Ted was always involved in many sports. His Little League baseball days were some of his fondest memories. He was on many bowling Leagues over the years, loved to golf and enjoyed fast pitch softball. He was an umpire for years, and recent years had been a score keeper for the softball Leagues. Ted was an avid HAWKEYE fan and enjoyed whatever they were playing, But, most of all he loved and adored his family. Left to cherish Teds memory are his children, Laura (Alex) Castro of Cape Coral, Florida and David (Michelle) Larson of Stafford, Virginia; grandchildren, Elianna and Alexa; siblings, Mark (Nancy) Larson and Jack Larson all of Marshalltown; mother, Ruth Larson; longtime friend, Susan Darling and his bestfriend, his dog, Teddy. In death Ted rejoins his father, Alfred Larson.
