Born on January 22nd 1957, in Cedar Rapids, he was the son of Walter and Janice (Wilson) Lingo. He attended school in Marshalltown and graduated while enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country honorably for four years.
Ted was united in marriage to Lonnie Buchwald and to this union, two beautiful daughters were born- Angela and Amber. He dedicated several decades working at Elmwood as head groundskeeper- a job he loved. Even from the hospital he worried about getting ahold of his boss to let them know he was out.
Not only did he love taking care of the golf course, he loved playing the sport. Many things brought him enjoyment including football (especially the Kansas City Chiefs), dogs (Yogi the German Shepard) and time around the house. His first job was at the Animal Rescue League until mom wouldn’t let him bring home any more dogs!
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Angela (Mike) Hamilton of Marshalltown and their three children Victoria, Isaiah and Michael and grandson Elijah; Amber (Joel) Storjohann of Conrad and their children Luke, Jacob and Val and granddaughters Brooklyn and Lily; his mother Janice Anderson of Marshalltown and siblings- Glenda Lingo of Ogden, Utah, Jon Anderson of Marshalltown, Cindy Davis in Arizona and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In death, he rejoined his father, Walter.
