She graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1983 and later Buena Vista College with her degree in education. She was a local celebrity to a generation of children who would recognize her as the “reading lady” at the library. Teresa was the children’s librarian, a job she was passionate about- combining two loves in life- children and books. It is doubtful anyone ever saw her without a smile or her contagious laugh. She enjoyed life to the fullest- from Billy Joel and Tom Petty concerts to a 3000 mile trip in 9 days with her brother Greg to visit cousins. She loved traveling, reading, good food, cycling and trivia games (and she NEVER cheated playing those!). She definitely was a friend to all. Her heart was so full six months ago when grandbabies Henry and Sebastian entered the world just two days apart. Left to cherish her memory is Jeff, her loving husband, her three children: Alex (Maria) Hannam of Cedar Rapids, Sabrina (Sampson) Songkhamdet of Iowa City and Jack Hannam of Marshalltown; mother Donna of Marshalltown; siblings-Mark (Shelly) Anderson of Ankeny, Greg Anderson of St. Louis and Victoria (BJ) Woosley of Beaman; mother-in-law Charlene Hannam of Marshalltown and sisters/brothers-in-laws: Laura (Mike) Fricke of Marshalltown, John Hannam of Marshalltown, Jerry (Maria) Hannam of Denver, CO, Jim (Patti) Hannam of Marshalltown, Joe (Peggy) Hannam of Marshalltown and Beth (Matt) Streeter of Marshalltown as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and the family at Vaughn’s Pub. In death, she rejoined her father, Dennis, and father-in-law Ed Hannam.
