Terry R. (T-bone) Brown, 51, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 5th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on February 2, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska, he was the son of Chester and Shirleen (Flanagan) Brown. He attended school in the Marshalltown area. On September 11, 1994, he was married to Betty Stevenson in Marshalltown, where they have resided since their marriage. Terry was self-employed with Brown and Sons Auto in Marshalltown and also was a real-estate investor. He was a member of Iowa Amateur Softball Association and will be remembered for his cross-handed batting; he is also in the Iowa Hall Of Fame for 16-inch softball. He loved any time spent with the kids and grandkids, playing the guitar, volleyball, loved to camp, and enjoyed sponsoring race cars and playing cards. He knew everybody and nicknamed them all and took care of many. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty; his ex-wife Debra and her husband Lloyd Fisher; and his children Shane (Tammy) Brown, Terry "TJ" (Rachel Fogel), Chester "Chip" (Ashley) Brown, Michelle (Chris) Beattie, Terrissa, Chris, Marissa, Shannon and Jeramy Brown, and Mike Barnes, all of the Marshalltown area; his grandchildren, Brad and Kaitlin Holloway, Aspen, Brianne, Emma, Ashley, and Tyler Brown; his sister Linda (Rick) Nelson, his brother Larry (Karen) Brown, all of Marshalltown, along with several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Those that have preceded him in death are his grandparents, Art and Jessie Brown and Alva and Rita Flanagan.
