Tharold D. Starck

Tharold Starck, age 75, of Garwin, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Per Tharold’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Therold’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Tharold Dean Starck was born December 20, 1950 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was one of two children born to Elmer and Lorraine (Paustin) Starck. He attended school in Garwin where he was raised and was a graduate of Garwin High School Class of 1969. Tharold was a lifelong farmer in the Garwin area alongside his brother Allen. He was a member of Farm Bureau and loved attending farm auctions to see what new he could bring to the family farm.

Tharold is survived by his brother, Allen (Rachel) Starck of Toledo, Iowa.

In Eternal Life, he is rejoined with his parents, Elmer and Lorraine Starck.
