Theda Saigh, 90, of Milwaukee, formerly of Marshalltown, died Tuesday morning, November 25th, at the home of her daughter and herself in Milwaukee. A funeral service of remembrance and personal sharing will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a time of fellowship and refreshments to immediately follow. Private family interment rites will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the services at the funeral home. Born Theda Van Patter on April 22, 1918, in Story County, she was the only child born to Frank and Sarah Lottie (Smith) Van Patter. She graduated from the Ames High School and later the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. Theda taught school in Kalona, Ft. Dodge, Oelwein and Marshalltown at AEA #6. She was also owner and operator of a restaurant with her husband, James. She married James Saigh on August 25th, 1947, in Ft. Dodge. Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Tobi (Brian) Greene of Marshalltown, James Craig (Jean Ann) Saigh of Omaha, Jana Saigh of Milwaukee and Marty (Pam) Saigh of Mankato, MN, six grandchildren: Chad Greene of Marshalltown, Chris Greene of Highlands Ranch, CO, Lisa Saigh of Brooklyn, NY, Quinn Saigh of Omaha, AJ Saigh of Minneapolis and Paul Greene of Bartlesville, OK., and seven precious great-grandchildren. In death she has rejoined her parents, husband James and great-grandson, Westley Greene.
