Thomas Benge

Thomas Benge, age 84, of Marshalltown, passed away Tuesday, July 16th, at the Grandview Heights in Marshalltown.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 22nd, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.

Born on June 29th, 1940, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Harry and Eva (Wilson) Benge. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School’s Class of 1958 and made lifelong friends from that class.

On June 3rd, 1961, at the EUB Church (later Grace United Methodist) in Marshalltown, he was united in marriage to Sidnee Svec. They made their home in Marshalltown until transferring to Texas with Lennox. Tom worked for Lennox for 42 years. They returned to Iowa in February of this year due to health issues.

Tom enjoyed visiting with friends and his pet dogs, cats and turtles.

Surviving is a cousin Jami (Wendell) Dolezal of Marshalltown and her family and nephews Dana and David Montz of State Center.

Preceding him in death was his beloved Sidnee in March of this year and his parents.
